Champaign Urbana Mass Transit District Part Time Bus Operator/Driver Job Description
The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District is looking for self-starting, friendly individuals to become bus operators. Applicants must have an excellent driving record, and be 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. Must pass a physical exam and have outstanding customer service skills.
Operators complete up to 8 weeks of training with pay, and then pass multiple parts of the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) exam.
Following training, starting wage is $11.39 per hour. Bus operators are eligible for vacation, uniform allowance, life insurance, and credit union membership with many additional benefits available after completing one year of service. Operators work a minimum of 20 flexible hours per week with opportunity for additional hours, and must be available weekends.
As with all MTD positions, candidates for this position must pass a drug test.
